Rapita Systems has launched MACH178 Foundations, a library of documents to support DO-178C and ED-12C compliance for multicore projects in accordance with AC 20-193 and AMC 20-193 guidance. The new product will help organizations working towards multicore DO-178C certification reduce project risk and time to market by providing specialist off-the-shelf resources to support their multicore airworthiness certification.
MACH178 Foundations, part of Rapita’s MACH178 solution for multicore DO-178C compliance, includes templates for DO-178C planning documents, procedures, results templates and checklists that provide a methodology for meeting most of A(M)C 20-193’s certification objectives, as well as white papers and training.
The procedures and guidance are built from Rapita’s extensive experience in supporting multicore certification in the safety-critical aerospace and defense software industries, which includes providing training and delivering tools and services to support multicore certification globally.
The white papers in MACH178 Foundations provide off-the-shelf expert guidance on a range of topics relevant to multicore certification, including considerations for selecting processors, RTOSs, and software architecture, and certification considerations where only a single active core is used for multicore software.
With each delivery of MACH178 Foundations, training is provided to help organizations use the documents and guidance within the product for their software projects.
As well as supporting DO-178C and ED-12C, MACH178 Foundations supports military & defense airworthiness requirements such as MIL-HDBK 516-C (AA-22-01), and AMACC, which are increasingly using DO-178C guidance as a basis for airworthiness certification.
“We are very proud to launch MACH178 Foundations. The package is the result of years of work by our team of experts across multiple disciplines, including hardware, software, and quality assurance engineers, and the culmination of what we’ve learned over years interacting with industry and certification authorities.”
Guillem Bernat, CEO, Rapita Systems Ltd. & Rapita Systems S.L.
