Professor Alan Burns, Chairman of Rapita Systems and Professor of Real-Time Systems at the University of York, has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering at its AGM in July 2009.
Professor Burns is a recognised authority in real-time systems and the Ada programming language, having authored and co-authored over three hundred publications. He has been the chairman of Rapita Systems since its inception in 2004.
