Dr Paul Emberson of Rapita Systems Ltd has been invited to deliver a presentation at the 1st International Workshop on Analysis Tools and Methodologies for Embedded and Real-time Systems (WATERS).
"Techniques For The Synthesis Of Multiprocessor Tasksets" discusses different ways of randomly generating task sets for experiments with schedulability tests and how the task set generation method can directly affect experimental results.
The paper sets out how an algorithm can overcome the underlying mathematical problem of efficiently generating uniformly distributed random points whose components have constant sum.
This Randfixedsum algorithm has been available via a MatLab forum for a number of years; however, this is the first time it has been formally published.
The paper shows how Randfixedsum can be directly applied to multiprocessor taskset generation.
The 1st International Workshop on Analysis Tools and Methodologies for Embedded and Real-time Systems takes place in Brussels on July 6th.
