Rapita Systems is delighted to announce that SAIF Autonomy are using the Rapita Verification Suite to verify their groundbreaking platform that enables the safe use of AI in critical embedded systems.
SAIF Autonomy is a pioneering venture-backed UK startup leading in autonomous systems assurance, pioneering trustworthy autonomy for humanity. The “Safeguards for Embodied AI” SAIF are building revolutionizes the assured use of advanced autonomy in systems across embedded domains, including the aerospace and automotive industries. They recently secured $1.2M in a pre-seed funding round led by Palo Alto based VC, Fusion Fund.

"Traditional" verification of AI algorithms is challenging due to their lack of deterministic behavior. SAIF provide an enabling platform, comprising of certifiable software and hardware, that monitors the output of non-deterministic AI algorithm and validates they fit within pre-defined boundaries. The platform also provides a safety-net via redundant operation modes. When the system detects deviations, it activates recovery controls designed to maintain safety and support mission continuity. For example, in the event of sensor degradation such as GPS loss, the platform can constrain behavior to a verified fallback mode, allowing the system to continue operating safely while maximizing the likelihood of mission success. The platform is flexible, enabling SAIF’s customers to efficiently iterate and deploy proprietary AI algorithms in the field faster than ever.
SAIF Systems’ adoption of Rapita’s software testing toolsuite, RVS, demonstrates their commitment to developing industry-ready capabilities to support customers in highly regulated industries.
Matt Harris, CTO and Co-Founder, SAIF, said the following:
“From day one, we’ve been committed to using qualifiable, industry-trusted tools like RVS to give our customers and certification authorities confidence in the integrity of our platform. Rapita’s on-target flexibility ensures that whatever direction our customers take with their software or hardware, the assurance infrastructure we’re building today will support them tomorrow. It’s a critical part of how we’re enabling safe, scalable deployment of AI in safety-critical systems.”
Nick Bowles, Account Manager at Rapita Systems, worked with Matt and the SAIF team to design a solution that would support SAIF’s certification roadmap:
“We are extremely proud to be working with SAIF, a UK startup truly at the forefront of AI innovation. This is the start of a long-term partnership and we look forward to supporting SAIF, via the Rapita toolsuite, with software verification and certification in both the aerospace and automotive domains.”
