Software Data Coupling and Control Coupling (DCCC) coverage analysis is a required activity for DO-178C/ED-12C avionics software, and supports the development of high quality software by acting as an independent criteria for the sufficiency of integration testing.
While DCCC has been a required objective and activity since DO-178B/ED-12B, there is still no universal approach nor clear objective guidance for meeting the airworthiness objective. At Rapita, we strongly believe that DCCC analysis should support the general objectives of your project, i.e. it should reduce lifecycle costs, decrease risk, and at the same time provide better confidence in the integrity of the product. In other words, it should provide added value, rather than simply being an unwelcome distraction purely for the purposes of certification.
We can help you define an approach for Data Coupling and Control Coupling analysis that fits the way you work and provides real value to your software development life cycle.
We can also support you in your DCCC analysis through our Software V&V services.
